New charity – Action for Happiness

There’s a new charity called ‘Action for Happiness’ who call themselves a movement for positive change launching in Spring 2011. They aim to bring together people from all walks of life who aim to make society happier for everyone.

We think it’s interesting as their ideas appear to tap into the work done by the Positive Psychology movement headed up by (amongst others) Martin Seligman. At Motion Learning you know that we believe firmly in taking a positive approach to human behaviour – looking for what is working and good as opposed to focussing on the problems that may need ‘fixing’ which sadly often seems the way.

The BBC on their morning Breakfast programme are testing out a few of the ideas in their current ‘Happiness Challenge’. It’s quite interesting to watch the volunteers reactions as they try out some everyday ways to improve levels of not only their own but also other people’s happiness.

Here are a few links to look at if you are interested in checking this out further:

We would be really interested in your thoughts!
